Yassıca Islands are archipelagos consisting of large and small islets. New learners and children can have a pleasant time on the sandy and shallow part of the island. There is no restaurant on the island, but there are boats that make pancakes, where you can snack as an aperitif. There are buoys on the Yassıca Islands, which are sheltered for anchoring at night.
The Winter Harbor, which is entered from the North West side of the Tersane Island, formerly known as Telandria, is a sheltered harbor even in the winter months, as the name suggests. Tersane Island, which is the largest island in Fethiye Bay, has the remains of the historical Shipyard, which was used in the Ottoman Period after the Byzantine Period. To the east of Tersane Island, there is Yaz Harbor Bay, which is suitable for anchoring. The Greeks living on Tersane Island leave the island after the population exchange and the Lausanne Treaty. You can dock at the pier of the restaurant on Tersane Island and stay overnight.
Manastır Bay, also known as Cleopatra Hamam or Sunken Hamam Bay in the region due to an old Turkish bath with ruins in the water in the southwest of the bay, has tectonic coastal formations like many other bays in the bay. When the slope of the hill just behind the bay is carefully examined, this tectonic structure and the channels on the hill that brought the waters of a crater lake that were active in the past to the shore can be clearly seen. Monastery Bay is covered with pine trees and carob trees from coast to hill. An ancient wall structure running parallel to the coast in the northeast direction and other small ruins remind you that you are not far from the ancient city of Lydae in Lycia. You can reach Lydae from the Ağ Harbour, as well as from the Manastır Bay with a walk of approximately 1.5 hours. The Manastır Bay is a beauty that must be included in your itinerary for daily visits and overnight stays.
The island, which is in the south of Fethiye, is approximately 9 km from Fethiye. The length of the island is 1 km and its width is 400 meters. The southern slope of Gemiler Island is steep and the northern slope shows a slight slope. In the Middle Ages, Gemile or Aya Nikola Island, located in the Ölüdeniz Basin known as Smybola, was founded in AD. Since the 5th century, it has come to an important position, especially with the formation of religious settlements. There are some rumors about the name of the island. For example; It is known that the church on the highest point of the island was dedicated to St. Nicholas in a maritime guide belonging to the Medieval Period. However, this St. Nicholas is thought to have been born in Derme and known as Santa Claus. The accuracy or refutation of some of the information available about Nicholas is still not certain. An important Nikolas lived on this island, but there is no detailed information about his identity yet. With a wall extending in the east-west direction on the northern slope of the island, the religious buildings concentrated on the top of the hill and the civil and commercial buildings below can be distinguished. This indicates that the upper part of the island is a sanctuary. It is thought that there is a chimney thought to be used to signal with smoke on the island of Karacaören, which is approximately 150 meters west of the island, with the aim of warning both the people of Gemile Island and the people of Kayaköy in the event of a possible attack. In the bay where Gemile Island is the center, Gemile Bay, Ölüdeniz, Fethiye Peninsula, Knight Island and 12 islands are located, the remains of many churches and chapels spread over various notes have been found, which gives the impression that there was an intense religious activity in the region during the period.
Domuz Island, which belongs to the Simavi family, is the closest island to the Kapıdağ Peninsula. The island takes its name from the Pigs who swam to the island from this distance. Panço Bay in the north of the island is one of the preferred places for anchoring. The aquarium cove, which is located between Domuz island and Tersane island, is also a great place for masked dives.
